The good, the bad, and the ugly

Well, readers, yesterday Charles and I made a whirlwind trip to Southport.  We packed up the quaint, if tiny, St. James efficiency and took another look at the house-to-be.

Knowing that this house is “an endeavor” (the affectionate term we’ve chosen to describe a monumental task), we’ve chosen to surround ourselves with as many experts as possible.  The result:  people giving us a healthy understanding of just what a job we have before us.  Charles’ grandparents met us at the house and walked through it; Ken has his general contracting license.  Although we were infinitely grateful to him for his expertise, we had no choice but to admit we were completely unprepared for what we encountered.  Our first viewing of the home with nothing inside left us with a multitude of pictures- this series is entitled The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.
